Frequently Asked Questions for Guests

Are the boats easy to board?

The boats are all Marina based so you are able to walk right up to the boat on a pontoon for ease of boarding. The boats are all different as far as boarding is concerned, some you simply step over to board, but some boats have either boxes or steps to aid boarding. If one of your party aren’t as mobile, give us a call and we can advise as to what boat would be best for you.

What time can I arrive/leave?

Check in time is from 2pm onwards and check out time is by 11am . We appreciate you giving us about an hour’s notice of your arrival time, so we can make sure we are there when you arrive. We do need to go through a boat usage/safety brief which can take about 45 minutes, so please allow for this.

What is supplied on board?

All boats have cookers, fridges, some have small freezer areas, some have microwaves, please check the facilities for the particular boat you are looking at.

We supply all the bedding and the beds are made up for you, we supply towels (please bring beach towels) and tea towels. The boats all have good crockery, cutlery, cooking utensils, glassware and a cafetière on board. There is also a welcome pack on board which includes your first breakfast on board (eggs, bacon, milk, butter, bread, water, condiments, tea and coffee).

Are there all services like a holiday cottage?

The boat is hooked up to the mains electric so you may use all facilities like toasters, kettle, electric radiators, hairdryers, and you are able to charge your own items like laptops and mobiles.

The boats all have very large water tanks, so you have water from a tap, as you would at home. The tank will need topping up, from time to time, depending on use, but this is easy to do, as the Marina have hoses very near to each of the boats.

There are showers and toilets on board, but are also great facilities on all the Marinas .

Wifi

Nearly all Marinas have wifi which you are able to purchase for your time on board.

Do you take children?

We are able to take children on board, however, you would be responsible for your child and need to be aware that you are on the water, and you would need to be vigilant particularly with young children.

We insist that children wear lifejackets whilst on the pontoon and on the outside parts of the boat, and don’t run on the pontoons but walk safely along them. A responsible adult must be with a child at all times, and it is not acceptable to leave a child on board on their own. We may be able to help with life jackets, but it is better to bring your own, as they will then be a perfect fit.

What about pets?

Generally we don’t take pets, however, if you have a particularly well behaved dog, then give us a call, we may get permission from one of the boat owners.

What entertainment is on board?

All the boats have TV, most have DVD and freeview. All have CD on board and games. Some have basic fishing gear.

Are there any additional charges?

No, all the electricity, gas and water are included in the price. The only charge which is not covered is if the marina charges for parking, we can let you know what this is for the particular marina you are staying on.
